COCOONS

the hungry caterpillar takes everything

—as much as he can

​watch him now​, 

bleeding onto the other cocoons

demanding

not just leaves

but all their bark

and roots too

not sure how or if

or whether or when

always forgetting why 

he’s covered in so much sap
