CALEB PONTON, CFRE

Caleb Ponton serves as Development Officer for Individual Giving with Habitat for Humanity International, where he helps bring people together to build homes, communities and hope.

He brings more than six years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a focus on securing transformative major gifts and building national philanthropic networks. Caleb is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and holds a Certificate in Fund Raising Management from Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. He is also an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and a graduate of both the NC Nonprofit Management Institute and Kim Klein’s “Fundraising for Social Change" program.

After earning his bachelor’s degree in political science from Appalachian State University, Caleb began his career working alongside communities facing systemic barriers. He has served on the board of Harmony: NC LGBT+ Allied Chamber of Commerce and on AFP Triangle’s IDEA Committee (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility). His experience also includes roles with the New Hanover County Board of Elections, Appalachian State University’s Office of Outdoor Programs, and the American Cleft Palate–Craniofacial Association.

Caleb is a proud Eagle Scout, marathon runner, and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200).

He lives in Wilmington, NC with his nine-year-old pit bull, Travis.
